Temperament Testing
We offer formal temperament testing to:
• Animal Shelters
• Non-profit dog rescue groups
• Breeders
• Dog owners who want to know more about a newly adopted dog
A temperament test is a wonderful tool to objectively evaluate a dog's temperament
by observing their reactions in various situations. While there is no way to 100%
guarantee a dog's future behavior, through temperament testing we can determine
what a dog's triggers for aggression may be, if he will guard valuables like food or bones, if he can be handled safely, and if
he could live with children or needs an experience owner.
We use a modified version of the "Assess-a-Pet" test. A written summary of the test with our conclusions/recommendations
is included in our fee. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes to test a single dog, although with discussion the session
usually runs 45-60 minutes.
Temperament test for adult dog over 5 months of age: $45
Temperament test for puppy under 5 months of age: $25
Discounts available if multiple dogs or litters are tested. Call for more information.
