Good Manners (Obedience) Training: Good Manners training focuses on teaching
basic skills such as:
• Sit & Lie down • Coming when called
• Walking nicely on leash • Stay
• Leave it/Drop it • Not jumping on people
• Go to your bed
Sessions are tailored to focus on the behaviors that are important to you! Emphasis is placed on
helping you better understand your dog, teaching your dog to use self-control, and helping you
establish appropriate management and exercise routines to improve behavior.
All training exercises will be throughly demonstrated and we'll provide you with educational
handouts. All skills can be taught using clicker training, if desired. Packages of sessions are
available. A written evaluation of your dog's behavior/training goals can be requested.
Behavior Consultations: When dealing with a serious behavior problem, getting help
sooner rather than later can affect the success of the training program. Behaviors tend to get more
and more problematic the longer they play out. During a Behavior Consultation, you'll learn how to
prevent and manage the problem behavior as well as teach your dog new, more appropriate
behaviors. We offer Behavior Consultations for problems including:
• Separation anxiety • Dog to Dog issues
• Fear/shyness • Resource Guarding
• Aggression* • Handling/grooming issues
We can also address common issues that make life with your canine companion less than enjoyable
such as housetraining issues, excessive barking, or chewing/destructive behavior.
We'll evaluate your dog's behavior to get a thorough perspective on the problem and discuss training
and management options. The importance of fair and consistent leadership, relationship building,
canine body language, and appropriate exercise may also be discussed. After your initial
consultation, we will provide you with a written evaluation of your dog's behavior and an outline of
our training/behavior modification recommendations. You will also receive educational handouts and
step-by-step guides for all training exercises. Some behavior issues may require additional sessions
and packages are available.
Before your scheduled appointment, you will need to complete our
Behavior History Form which will give us a complete picture of your
dog's behavior. Click the link below to open the form (if you
experience trouble downloading the form, let us know and we can
email or send you a copy). Please note that you must return this
form to us at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment or
