Group Training Classes
We offer several levels of group training classes.  Whether you have a new puppy or an adult dog, training
is important!  Group classes are a great way to teach your dog basic skills and to pay attention in a
distracting environment.   

Group classes are held at
Brady's Run Park, Brighton Township.

Space is limited so everyone gets plenty of one-on-one attention.  Classes fill quickly on a first come first
serve basis so sign up early to reserve your place!  Your dog's place in class is not reserved until we
receive your completed registration form and deposit.  You will be sent a confirmation letter in the
mail.  
Please bring a copy of your dog's vaccination record with you on the first night of class.

Call us at  (724) 847-0577.  We'll let you know if there is space available in the class date/time you are
interested in.  However, your dog's place in class is not officially reserved until we receive your completed
registration form and deposit.

S.T.A.R. Puppy Class:
$90/ per puppy
Start your puppy off on the right paw!  This fun puppy class offers the American Kennel Club's S.T.A.R.
Puppy program which emphasizes Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsible Owners.  During this
most crucial and formative time in your puppy's life we'll start basic manners and focus on socialization in
a fun and safe environment.  
For puppies of all breeds and mixes.    
Your puppy will get an introduction to:
- Sit & Lie Down
- Coming when called (recall)
- Walking nicely on leash
- A basic Stay
- Not jumping on people

Emphasis is placed on:
- Socialization with puppies, adult dogs, and new people
- Housetraining
- Accepting gentle routine body handling, grooming, & nail clipping
- Accepting routine veterinary exams   
- Dealing with puppy playbiting & chewing
- Responsible dog ownership   

First class is mandatory without puppies - it's Orientation Night for people only.  Owners must bring
proof of puppy's vaccinations and have ID on their puppy (tag, microchip, or tattoo).   
Age requirement: Puppies under 5 months or younger on the first day of class; Toy breeds up to 7
months of age on the first day of class accepted
Prerequisite: No previous training needed
Duration:  1 hour per week for 6 weeks; 15 minutes of playtime prior to class
Class size: Minimum of 3 puppies per class and a maximum of 8 puppies

STAR Puppy Class Schedule:

Mondays May 3-June 14, 6-7p (No class Memorial Day - May 31)
Wednesdays May 19-June 23, 6-7p
Thursdays June 10-July 15, 6-7p
Mondays July 19-August 23, 7:30-8:30p
Fridays August 12-September 16, 6-7p

Basic Manners:
$90/ per dog
This class is a open to dogs of all ages and breeds!  In this class, we teach YOU how to train your dog to
be a good family companion using practical and effective methods.  Behaviors taught in this class:
- Sit & Lie down around distractions                                        
- Attention/focus on owner                                
- Coming when called (recall)                             
- Walking nicely on leash                          
- Not jumping on people
- A basic Stay
- Leave it/Drop it
- Fun tricks: Shake hands, spin in a circle, and roll over

This class also teaches you about how your dog thinks and learns so you can better understand your
canine friend.  Positive solutions to common behavior issues such as barking and chewing as well as
basic grooming techniques are discussed.  

First class is mandatory without dogs - it's Orientation Night for people only.
Age requirement:
Dogs of all ages
Prerequisite: No previous training needed
Duration: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks; 15 minutes of playtime prior to class
Class size: Minimum of 3 dogs per class and a maximum of 6 dogs

Intermediate Manners:
$90/dog
Ready to take your dog's skills to the next level?  In this class we work on:
- Heeling
- Stay with distractions
- Go to your bed
- Starting long distance recalls

Emphasis is placed on fading out food rewards and gaining consistency in your dog's responses.

Age requirement: Open to dogs of all ages
Prerequisite:  Basic Manners class or equivalent private training.  STAR Puppy graduates are
recommended to do Basic Manners before signing up for Intermediate Manners.
Duration: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks; 15 minutes playtime before class
Class size: Minimum of 3 dogs per class and a maximum of 6 dogs.

Intermediate Manners Class Schedule:
at Brady's Run Park, Brighton Township  
Tuesdays June 29-August 3, 6-7p
Mondays July 19-August 23, 6-7p

AKC Canine Good Citizen Class:
$90/ per dog
The focus of this class is the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test, which is offered on
Graduation Night.  We practice each of the
ten test items extensively.

Age requirement: Open to dogs of all ages
Prerequisite: Basic Manners class, although completing Intermediate Manners is recommended
Length of class: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks; 15 minutes of playtime prior to class
Class size: Minimum of 3 dogs and maximum of 8 dogs

Canine Good Citizen Class Schedule:

Thursdays June 10-July 15, 7:30-8:30p
Fridays July 9-August 13, 6-7p
